Bacteria
Bacteria show a size between 1-5 µm and appear as cocci or rod-shaped. Bacteriuria, the presence of bacterial cells in urine, can indicate a bacterial infection of the urinary tract. Depending on the composition of the cell wall, bacteria are distinguished between Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The absence of bacteria clearly allows the rule-out of a urinary tract infection.

'BACT Info' flag
This flag highlights the suspected presence of gram-positive (left) and gram-negative (right) bacteria, requiring the confirmation by subsequent diagnostics. It can also present a mixed population of gram-positive and gram-negative populations (middle).
