POCTcast Episode 1: Fingerstick for D-dimer: Ready for Primary Care?

In this episode, Karin Zwaan and Johan Kaijim discuss the possibility of measuring D-dimer with a fingerstick in primary care. D-dimer helps rule out thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) now makes it possible to do this quickly in general practice. We reference the EVA-II study, in which five test devices are evaluated that use capillary blood to detect deep vein thrombosis (DVT). What are the benefits, and is this technology, including the AFIAS, ready for daily use in practice?
