The Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra represents our most advanced system for particle size and distribution measurement using laser diffraction. This model boasts the broadest size range, measuring particles from 0.01 to 3500 micrometers, and offers automation capabilities. The digitally enhanced Mastersizer Xplorer features a comprehensive suite of AI-powered workflow applications, including the innovative Size Sure measurement mode.
The Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra employs laser diffraction to measure the particle size and distribution of materials. This is achieved by measuring the intensity of light scattered as a laser beam passes through a dispersed particulate sample. The collected data is then analyzed to calculate the sizes of the particles that created the scattering pattern. Three main elements enable the system to consistently and reliably provide accurate, robust particle sizing data essential for the effective operation of numerous industrial processes.
Optical Bench: The Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra delivers measurements from 10 nm to 3.5 mm using a single optical measurement path, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The dispersed sample passes through the optical bench's measurement area, where a laser beam illuminates the particles. A series of detectors accurately measure the intensity of light scattered by the particles within the sample for both red and blue light wavelengths and over a wide range of angles.
Sample Dispersion Units: The Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra offers a choice of six wet dispersion accessories to handle an extensive range of sample volumes and various dispersants. A state-of-the-art dry dispersion system enables rapid and reproducible powder dispersion, even for more fragile materials. These sample dispersion units ensure that particles are delivered to the optical bench's measurement area at the correct concentration and in a stable state of dispersion, ensuring accurate, reproducible measurements.
Mastersizer Software: The Mastersizer Xplorer software meets the growing demand for easy-to-use instruments that deliver excellent results without constant input from experts. The software controls the system during the measurement process, analyzing scattering data to calculate particle size distribution. Its intuitive interface guides users through every stage of the process, from selecting a robust method to routine measurement and result reporting. In-built expert advice on method development, method performance, and results quality reduces training requirements, making particle size analysis simpler and faster.
